What is it like to live in Coventry? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It is becoming more modern, with more restaurants and high street shops moving to the area with one of the best universities in the country, recently ranked 15th by The Guardian along with the title of best modern university; three years in a row.

What is the student lifestyle like in Coventry?

It is getting better, recently there have been developments to create a live music venue. As of now there is a smattering of clubs, pubs and bars as well as two cinemas and a large variety of restaurants of all types. There are lots of small local businesses who do well and who's customer service is second to none.

How much does it cost to live in Coventry?

It is very cheap. It currently costs me £300 a month p/p (6 bedroom house) with bills (gas, water, electric, wifi) costing about £50 a month total. Depending on how much you eat food shopping can range from £15-30 a week.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Coventry? Is there any advice you can give?

No.. Not even close. Coventry has thousands of privately owned houses which have very keen landlords who are regularly looking for tenants. If you'd prefer to live in halls there are about 12 in total within Coventry, half are privately owned, half are owned by the university, however as you can imagine they are considerably more expensive.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

It is cheap and cheerful.

I like the Chinese from chinese kitchen, the pizza from Di Maggio's (Coventry Shawarma King)

There is also nice places to go for night out dinners such as Cosmos, Nandos and lots of smaller Asian and European restaurants.

What places would you recommend visiting in Coventry?

Coventry isn't big for tourist hotspots however with links to Birmingham and London it is a good place to settle if you want to go on day trips to places.
