Once you are in Coimbra, you will start to look for accommodations and luckily, there are lots of them. You can find rooms in houses, hostels and residences. I stayed at one and suggest you the same because you can live with up to 30 students from different cultures.

Coimbra is a small and nice city, with a couple of natural landscapes, museums, narrow streets in which you can enjoy getting lost and a fine river view. The ups and downs of the city might be a bit tiring though.

You can find a party almost every week with ESN organizations. But after a couple weeks, same bars and discos might get a little bit boring. Don't worry, near Praca de Republica (the main square of the city) there are lots of alternative places with different features (look for pink and blue houses of Coimbra).

The prices of food and drinks are very cheap compared to other European countries, the transportation is also not very expensive. The weather is warm even in winter but it rains a lot. You will probably not see a Portuguese person without an umbrella on the street.
