Why did you choose to go to Coimbra, Portugal?

Because the city is known as the "city of students" and you can combine the academic part with the fun part here.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

From the middle of September until the middle of February. I received the money from my home university -the Erasmus scholarship- and around 500 euros when I came here -from my parents. So far, my finances are good.

What is the student lifestyle like in Coimbra?

There is a party almost every day/night in Coimbra so you can have as much fun as you want. Also, there are a lot of places where you can study or work on your projects.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Coimbra to other students?

Absolutely!

What is the food like?

Delicious! I really like the pastry!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Coimbra?

No, because I found it easily through this site. And I was lucky, the apartment is really nice.

How much does it cost to live in Coimbra?

Around 200 euros is the rent, which is the basic. And then it depends how much you spend on what you want, but Coimbra is not an expensive city, it adapted its prices to the student overflow.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Coimbra from your city?

From Bucharest to Lisbon by airplane and then by train until Coimbra.

Where would you recommend going on a night out in Coimbra?

O Reitor, NB Club.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Coimbra?

Ze Manel dos Ossos, A Cozinha da Maria, Tapas nas Costas.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Botanical Garden, Macahado de Castro Museum, The University of Coimbra.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Coimbra in the future?

Have as much fun as possible!
