Why did you choose to go to Coimbra, Portugal?
I knew I was going to Portugal when I read about it. I just knew I had to go there.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
Enough. :)
What is the student lifestyle like in Coimbra?
It's pretty hard. All these parties... But without kidding it's nice, I'm just shocked they have to pay scholarship for all university students.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Coimbra to other students?
Yes, and I already did.
What is the food like?
They have different habits, but it's great. Funny mixtures (rice and fries O. o).
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Coimbra?
Actually, I was very lucky because I met one buddy. A nice local guy and he helped me with social integration there.
How much does it cost to live in Coimbra?
At least 200€ per month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
It is easy if you know at least basic Spanish, but otherwise it can be pretty hard. Anyway, there are plenty language courses in many different universities.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Coimbra from your city?
Plane - obviously. Especially in winter.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Coimbra?
Rock cafe for your rocker soul and Tapas for great dancing.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Coimbra?
Everywhere. I don't remember.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
The university, Misarela - riverside...
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Coimbra in the future?
Don't hesitate, just go!
