How come did you choose to go to Chicago, in United States?

I went to Chicago to participate in a research project about breast cancer for my master thesis.

How long does the grant last? How much is the bursary you received?

I didn't have any grant. The sending and host Universities have to find an agreement.

How is the University environment?

Lively and dynamic... there are many students from all over the world. Everything is well organized and exciting.

Would you recommend the city and University of Chicago to other students?

Surely, people here are very helpful and serious, it would be a wonderful opportunity for everyone!

How is food?

Well, American food is not that much.. it's mostly fast food. But you can find every kind of food, Italian, Chinese, Greek, Brazilian... every continent has its restaurant in Chicago.

Was it difficult to find an accommodation in Chicago?

It depends on your budget, there is a great variety of accommodations with different prices, what is important is finding a compromise... I found my apartment on Craigslist.

How much does it cost to live in Chicago?

A lot! America is expensive, you have to be careful and find oportunities to save money.

Do you feel confident with the language? Did you attend any courses at Universities?

Yeah, it's great, I didn't attend any courses. The secret is speaking, speaking, speaking... I tried to avoid Italians to have the possibility to learn and practise English.

Which is the cheapest way to reach Chicago from your city?

Plane, there aren't any other solutions.

Where do you recommend going out at night in Chicago?

There are many districts in Chicago, clubs for young people are mainly in Lincoln Park, Lake View, The Loop.

What about food? Which are your favourite restaurants?

Every place is goog for eating, i. e. Little Italy, Chinatown, Irving Park.

What do you recommend visiting?

Chicago is a wonderful city, but it's pretty poor from a historical point of view. However, there are some beautiful museums and parks.
