Why did you choose to go to Chania, Greece?

It's in South, not expensive, has lectures in English, wonderful island, not very hard to study (if you want it can even be easy)...:)

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

6 months, 450 euro per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Chania?

Easy, calm, something like holidays just with great people and a lot of time.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Chania to other students?

You have to chose what are you expecting from ERASMUS experience. Life in Chania is more about beaches, sun, good weather. But there is about 15 Erasmus students in the city and that's changes a lot. Of course you can always go to Heraklion from Chania jsut to party, because there are much more students and it's not so far away.

What is the food like?

When you live in Chania you'll eat in cafeteria (at least most of the chances are that you will). You can get quite a lot of different food, from pork to some sea food. In total it's really not bad. And in the end it is very possible that you will get it for free as a student.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Chania?

No, TEI of Crete take cares of your accommodation and you will have a place before going there. But of course you can always look for yourself as well.

How much does it cost to live in Chania?

Like everywhere it depends how you live, how much do you pay for food (if you pay). And of course rent price. I survived for about 450 euros per month and didn't missed any trips, but for others it was 600. It all depends on you.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

University didn't offered language courses 2011/2012.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Chania from your city?

By plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Chania?

Where are bars, few clubs... But in Chania you can just go to make a party on the beach.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Chania is one of the most nice cities in Crete. But while being there you'll travel all around the island. Just from my opinion Balos beach is the best:)

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Chania in the future?

Go to every trip that is planed or plan them by yourself. People who are going for autumn semester I can advice to travel in the first two months a lot. December and January isn't so nice and it could be raining a lot.
