Ceske Budejovice is a relatively quiet place although when one wants some action, they can get it as well. It is nice and it has both, the culture and the nature. It is good for indoor and outdoor activities.

What is the student lifestyle like in České Budějovice?

Students really like Ceske Budejovice because they can vitis many pubs with great local beer, or go to the disco or to a rock concert as there are many music clubs with not only one genre. They can still keep busy and when they need peace, they can go to the park, ride bike, skate or go for a walk into the woods.

How much does it cost to live in České Budějovice?

Compared with the rest of Europe, Czech Republic is relatively cheap country. In Ceske Budejovice you can for example buy a great beer (0, 5 l) for abour 1, 5 euro. Also the transport is very cheap in comparison with western european countries.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in České Budějovice? Is there any advice you can give?

There is a big campus for students but there are also many other options for students. THere are many flats for rent and flatsharing is also a possibility.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

For many europeans, mainly those from the south, Czech quisine is heavy and they have to find their way to like it or adapt to it. But many people like it and try to learn how to cook Czech meals.

What places would you recommend visiting in České Budějovice?

I would recommend visiting the townhall in Ceske Budejovice, the Black tower, riding a bike along the river, the parks or one of the creepiest and most magical places in the Czech Republic, the Branisovsky forest.

In Ceske Budejovice there are many fine restaurants. For example Hotel Malý Pivovar, U koníčka, Masné krámy, Olivier, Pomáda, Doodles and many others.

Is the nightlife good in České Budějovice? Where is good to go?

The nighlife is rich is Ceske Budejovice. When you like to go to concerts, you can go to Slavia Club, Velbloud bar, Modré dveře, Fabrika or club K2. If you like disco, go to Paradox or Broukárna. There is also a thing called Students' Wednesdays. Every Wednesday there are many events especially for students and many discounts in local pubs, clubs and restaurants.

What advice would you give future students heading to České Budějovice?

If you think that Czech people are not friendly or communicative, just try to give them a little time. At first they may be a bit shy and seem unfriendly, but it will change once you have had a few drinks with them or spent a little time around them.
