What is it like to live in Castellón De la Plana? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I totally recommend living in Castellón. It's a big city with the conforts of a big city, ans it's also very easy to get around and get places. In general, the people are very friendly and open-minded.

What is the student lifestyle like in Castellón De la Plana?

It's very quiet, but there are always things to do. The university campus is created so that you can spend a lot of time in leisure spaces with your classmates and friends.

How much does it cost to live in Castellón De la Plana?

I think it's cheaper. The flats next to the university can be rented for around 200€, but in general, compared to cities like Madrid or Barcelona, Castellón is cheap.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Castellón De la Plana? Is there any advice you can give?

I think there are many accomodation offers near the university and also in the city center, so it should be easy to find accomodation.In addition, the university has a hall residence which is at a very good price.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is just spectacular and delicious! The most typical dishes of the area are: paella, patatas bravas (potatoes with alioli sauce and red pepper), tortilla española (potatoes omelette), jamón ibérico (ham)...In addition, for vegetarian and vegan people there are also some bars and restaurants where you can find a menu to your liking, such us l'Amanida, Vegacos or el Rincón del Bocata.

What places would you recommend visiting in Castellón De la Plana?

I recommend visiting la Plaza Mayor and Parque Ribalta, in the city center, some museums (Museo Belles Arts and Espai d'Art Contemporani), and I strongly recommend going to the beach to take a walk (el Grao, la playa del Gurugú y la Playa del pinar...). If you want to visit other places near Castellón you can go to Valencia, Morella, Peñíscola, las Cuevas de San José...They are places really worth visiting.

Is it good to eat out in Castellón De la Plana? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Of course! There are many bars and restaurants throughout the city. Above all, there are quite a few well-known areas called "Las Tascas", where you can go for a glass of wine or a beer with your friends and eat some tapas, which is a very typical thing in Castellón. And if you want to enjoy a good rice, such as paella or arròs del senyoret, in el Grao area, there are several restaurants and beach bars that cook these delicious dishes, apart from delicious fish, such as tuna, sea bass or cuttlefish.

Is the nightlife good in Castellón De la Plana? Where is good to go?

I love the nightlife in Castellón. It is true that being a smaller city than Madrid or Barcelona, not everyday you can find parties, but from Wednesdays to Saturdays are open some pubs and clubs like Mambo, Santos, Menta...and my favourite, Wallabys. If you come to Castellón I recommend you this pub 100%.

What advice would you give future students heading to Castellón De la Plana?

I would advice you to led yourselves go, enjoy the experience to the maximum, take advantage of the fact that it is a quiet city to meet people, explore places and also enjoy culture, gastronomy and partying!
