Why did you choose to go to Caen, France?

The University there offered a good english program.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I received (in total) about 900€ per 5 months from my home University. My family gave to me the most part of the money "to survive".

I spent around 500€ per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Caen?

Actually I spent the most part of the time with other erasmus students, French students didn't care so much about us, and they can't speak english (not all, of course).

Would you recommend the city and the University of Caen to other students?

Yes, I enjoyed a great experience, the city is small but for this kind of experience is perfect!

What is the food like?

French cuisine is one of the best in my opinion, anyway there are a lot of big store (Carrefour) where you can find everything you need.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Caen?

The french university sent to me some options to choose before leave Italy.

How much does it cost to live in Caen?

It's quite expensive, I paid 350€ per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

French is not easy to learn, especially if you don't speak a neolatin leanguage like italian or spanish. I learnt a little bit of french, but especially English, because all my courses were taught in english.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Caen from your city?

Plane or train.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Caen?

There are several pub/bar and few clubs.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There is a Castle in the middle of the city and a lot of beautiful churches, and there is also an important meseum about the second world war.
