Budapest - a little feeling of peace
After writing the article called: Budapest - The sun will rise again in Heroic Budapest - you can find it here.
I think that it is not enough for this beautiful city, there are still many more things to say about Budapest. So I decided to write down a little bit of the beauty of Budapest apart from its heroic style because personally I found many other aspects of Budapest making it a great must-visit tourist destination.
Let's enjoy!
My first impression of Budapest was simplicity and cleanliness. Budapest is dubbed "Paris of the East", because the beauty of the city is somewhat similar to the capital of France, as an excellent representative of Eastern European beauty next to the capital of Prague. Czech Republic.
But I love Budapest because the tranquility and tranquility of Budapest is never in Paris, fluttering.
In Budapest you can visit the city in a peaceful atmosphere, more comfortable than the hot destinations of Europe such as Paris or Rome, while still watching the architectural wonders there. incomparable of the city.
I found that besides the proper allocation of land and population and moderate visitor numbers, one of the key factors that contributed to the good ambience of Budapest was that the buildings here were kept relatively low (most of the buildings in Budapest are not up to 45 meters high) - a government policy to ensure the requirements of a world heritage site.
Walking in Budapest, I did not see the ridiculous landscapes, but instead felt relaxed and peaceful as if I was enjoying a weekend. Budapest is also one of the least capitalized capitals in Europe, meaning it is an ideal location for international students and budget travelers. The price of a hotel room in the center of Budapest is very good, and the entrance fee for sightseeing places is not too expensive.
I read a book by the English writer M. John Harrison, who wrote: "Budapest is a land of dreams: it is a glimpse of the East in the West, a fantasy of the West in the West. East... a city created from Paris with Vienna bricks". The city of Budapest is famous for its thousands of years of local cultural heritage and the stamp of the civilizations that came here: from the Roman occupation, the Ottoman Empire from Turkey overflowing, and later the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The turbulent history left Budapest with its unique and varied architectural heritage along the Danube in Buda and Pest, representing the different personalities of the city. If the Buda side has magnificent Statue of Liberty and Royal Castle with its medieval streets and buildings and ancient Roman sites on a hilly and bumpy hilltop landscape, then The east coast of Pest represents a vibrant Budapest with its magnificent Parliament House as a fairy-tale palace, riverside walkways with magnificent views, old marketplaces, antique shops and museums, lovely coffee shops. The cultural mix brings to Budapest an extraordinary delicacy: it carries the splendor of the West, and the gentle, gentle reminiscent of the East. Unique architectural works such as the New Fortress (New Gothic and Neoclassical Gothic Architecture), Dohany Synagogue (Mosaic of the Renaissance), Matthias Church (Romanesque architecture in the Middle Ages), Churches St. Stephen (neoclassical architecture), the Hungarian Parliament (new Gothic Architecture), the Museum of Applied Art (Art Nouveau architecture, or art nouveau)... will surely impress visitors, all of these places represent the beautiful heritage of the beautiful city of Budapest.
Even the busiest tourists like me should give themselves some time to settle in to enjoy the peaceful beauty of Budapest.
I can go sailing and dine on the Danube, take a stroll along the scenic river bank, or jump on a golden tram running around the city. You should also visit the National Art Museum, part of the Royal Palace, to enjoy the most valuable paintings of Hungarian art. You can also climb to the top of St. Stephen's Church - the tallest building in Budapest to admire the beautiful city from above. Another noteworthy option for travelers is a refreshing dip in the ancient hot baths with a long history of Turkish occupation, a service known as the "spa town" of Budapest.
There, you will see people just take a hot bath.. watching and playing chess!
Finally, I recommend if you have the opportunity to visit Budapest, enjoy the catfish paprika, a great Hungarian speciality.
