Why did you choose to go to Breda, Netherlands?

I wanted to live in the Netherlands because I have visited it before, and the reason why I chose Breda is that it's not a big city and for living I prefer that, and also the party is very good.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship will last till january, so it will cover my stay here. And the amount is around 250€ per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Breda?

It's amazing, because there are two different universities in a small city, so there's a lot of students from all over the world.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Breda to other students?

Absolutely, Breda is an amazing place to live in and the university is also very good.

What is the food like?

There's a lot of different places to go eating and for coffee, and in general are very good. You have to visit "t' Hart" and order nachos, they are awesome!!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Breda?

Yes, a lot. I recommend you to start looking for accommodation with about two months un advance, there is a lot of people coming to Breda every year and it's not very big.

How much does it cost to live in Breda?

Accommodation is usually around 350€-400€, and the other expenses are around 300€ also.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is quite difficult, but don't worry everybody speaks english! And yes there are dutch course at university

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Breda from your city?

For me it was by plane, from Málaga yo Eindhoven there are usually good prices with Ryanair. And then from that airport by train, it's like half an hour.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Breda?

There are a lot of places to go to, but my favourites are: "proost" (that means cheers! in dutch:D ), "Jansen", "Shots", "Walkabout"... There are a lot of them in the city center, almost all of them in two street.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Breda?

"Ellis" for burgers, "t' Hart" for beers, nachos and traditional dutch food, "Suikerkist" ... And there are also a lot of lovely places for coffee

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There is the church and there is also a Castle.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Breda in the future?

First thing... BIKE!!!
