A stroll around the city

Being back to Trabzon makes me feel so happy and free, even though they days are rainy and depressing and i continue to be sick and laid down to bed for the past 3 days or so. But today i decided to go for a walk around the city or at least until my feet will take me too. I woke up quite early considering my morning routine which is around noon, cooked very fast some toast and we decided to go outside. My app was telling me it's going to be a rainy day again but outside was looking pretty hot and sunny instead. So got dressed up super quick and step outside, the thing with dressing up goes two ways for me, i like to say i have 2 different styles, one is the homeless style where i just grab fast a t shirt and some old leggings and this is for the most of the days where i am too bored to get dressed and my other style is super classy and fashion for special occasions or whenever i want to look and feel good about myself.

But on this particularly day i choose my ''homeless'' style and just grabbed super fast some shitty clothes from the closet and without any makeup and hair done we went out. Did you ever get that feeling outside is more warm then inside your house? well i get that feeling almost all the time and is not for the fact that i don't open my windows or something, i really don't know but is strange though!

The best thing about where is our apartment located is the fact that is somewhere in the middle of the city close to every part you want to go, if it's the city center is around 10 minutes of walking, if it's the supermarkets another 10 minutes and also the main stadium of Trabzonspor football team is close to us, like 20 meters just. And not to mention one of the main shopping centers "Varlibas Mall" which is 5 minutes distance. In this day we decided to go until the center just for some fresh air and for clearing up my mind. On the same road we always walk i have some special shops i always visit, my place from where i eat my favorite shawarma, because only here they make it super tasty and with an add of parsley and sweat onion on the side. A bit more far is my place where i buy the backlava ( Turkish dessert ) which i promise you is the best one i ever tried since i am in Turkey ( i love the one with the nuts ).

Passing the shopping mall there is this cool old building we always pass by and if you look more down you can see some first glimpses of the Black Sea which is always making my day better.

Day 4

This remains of what it was in the old days a huge castle, Muhammet was just telling me this construction is from the Byzantine period and is super old, and as you can see it's carrying the Ottoman stamp on it. The walls you can still see them across the city street even though now they are covered with trees and many cars around it. Is too bad that some of this old constructions and heritage and not often protected so good by the people.

Day 4

In the picture above as i was saying before you may see a glimpse of the Black Sea and the walls of the castle. What i do appreciate about this country is that on every corner you may see the Turkish flag, if it's on somebody's apartment, some buildings or just grocery store you will always see the flag which is unfortunately that for example in Romania is very rare to see one flag, not to mention on every corner. So i do respect that!

Moving on, on the way to the city center we must cross two bridges and under one of them they just made a nice park with some small bungalow's where you can sit and enjoy the swans in the small lake which is passing the park.

Day 4

I bought for Muhammet 's last anniversary a turtle but due to the fact that we had to move in Elazig for the past 4 months we had to leave it behind, so we put the turtle in of of this lakes among the swans and we went today to check if it's still there but unfortunately we couldn't see her again.

Day 4

Maybe one of the swans ate him.

If you look a bit closer you may see on the top of the bridge some houses, well those houses and a particular one is the house where Suleyman was born and grew up until the age of 10 or so.

Day 4

Yes this is the house and if you get more closer it's writing there the house of Suleyman, inside they made it sort of museum but we didn't went inside because it was under renovation or something like this. And in front is so odd, they put like a terrace and small restaurant. I remember one time we sit there and the waitress told us she has a drink which is 500 years old and it was very famous Ottoman Empire juice, i tried it and it had a lot of cinnamon feel to it inside, but was good!

Day 4

Tabakhane mosque is the sign that you are now in the center, well at least this was my orientation point first time i came to Trabzon, it's one of the oldest mosques in the city. It's still looking awesome, especially in the night when is all light up.

So today i could walk just until here because once i entered the ''China shop'' across the street with the mosque i started to feel bad again and we hurried up home. I guess my cold is still going strong. So i am back in the bed and guess what the weather is super rainy and dark so it's a good day for watching some movies and serials. And hopefully tomorrow i can check and take pictures to some other nice places around the city.

So stay tune for my daily blog activities!
