Morning rituals

My second day in Trabzon starts pretty late, i woke up around 10 and half AM not by choice, because my phone started vibrating and i hate when that happens especially in the morning. I know i can use the silent mode but still i am used to always leave it on vibration because you whenever know you might be texting me. My ritual for every morning is woke up, make me a nice tea ( usually mint or fruits with no sugar ) and then get back to bed for an extra one hour or so in which i usually watch one episode from my TV shows i follow. After doing that i get up finally, make a house inspection on what are my chores for the day and then somehow getting myself motivated into doing them.

Monday morning was no joke, i still had plenty to do from the last day in terms of cleaning and washing so i got ready and started the chores. The day Muhammet left to visit his parents in the countryside, well that day the washing machine broke imagine, i mean it was expected as it was a pretty old model. So believe it or not we came back from Elazig with bunch of dirty clothes and more waiting for us at home, plus that feeling of windows closed for the past 3 months i said i need to wash everything from the bed sheets to every clothes in the closet because they already got that bad smell to it. Humidity is such a great problem here in Trabzon is unbelievable but i feel now is more that ever was, i constantly feel the bed clothes wet plus my hair, it's terrible to say the least. It reminds me my time in Malta where the humidity lever was so high up to 80% and then i was sleeping with my hair wet and woke up the same. Because of this i got super sick and a caught a virus or something that totally affected my skin, especially on my face. So i do not want the same in Trabzon!

The struggle is real

Washing the clothes by hand one by one can be a struggle for sure especially when all your life i was used to just throwing them into the washing machine. I remembered old ways of washing, how my grandmother generation and also my mother use to wash and now that i know i feel horrible about it, so thank to the person who invented the washing machine after all. After half an hour i finished somehow the clothes and started washing the dishes, this is totally housewife duties right after Erasmus which i am sure will be very common from now on. Later and with all my chores finished i cooked a new pasta recipe, i made spaghetti Carbonara ( make sure to check the recipe step by step on my other blogs ) and went straight to bed to watch more series and movies. When my boyfriend is usually gone i do not go out only if i have to and just until the store and back, he is the type of Muslim guy who tries to protect me tremendously and even if i am 27 years old he still treats me like 10 or something. So i try to respect his demands and all day Monday i stayed in bed.

It was a pretty boring day with nothing interesting, but one thing i realized when night came that my head and eyes started to hurt and my nose was coming, and i said to myself this cannot happen now. But yeah i woke up Tuesday morning fully sick and since then i am in bed with Nurofen and tea's next to me 24/7. Plus this morning i woke up with a terrible kidney pain so God knows what is that also! Probably because yesterday Muhammet came home from the countryside and even if i was suppose to stay in bed we went out for a bit and it was raining all day so my mistake. I felt the need to go out because too many days inside really got to me and i said why not i can use some fresh air and also go book my Sumela trip for Sunday. Said and done we were in the city center of Trabzon with so many people i can remember but not so many Arabic's this time, maybe because summer is over and they went back but usually in the summer i guess 95% of tourists here are Arabic so is full of them everywhere.

Sumela monastery.

Our first stop was Mc'Donalds which i really didn't felt like it but i obeyed what can i do, but i just took a sip from the peach ice tea and moved on. Being sick i kind of loose my appetite. We went to the touristic agency and guess what, remember how i told you that Sumela was closed for one year for restoration and they just open it this September, well apparently after they open it some rocks started to fall from the cliffs above and now they close it again and nobody knows when they will open again. So there goes my luck once again! But i will try for next week to go again hopefully before i am leaving for Romania i can visit it.

After some groceries shopping i returned home last night and i felt so sick like i never felt in my life, was and it is terrible to be sick. I hope today if i sit all day in bed i will recover and i plan to go tomorrow to the Ataturk's pavilion so wish me luck!

By the way last night i saw a nice movie which is also true story, is called ''Free state of Jones'' with Academy award winning Matthew McCounaghy and it was amazing, i recommend it, long shorty short the action happens during the Confederate period in the USA and the plot is about the slaves and the struggle into freeing them. I totally recommend this movie!

Wish you a great day to all, and stay safe from the colds!
