Hey everyone!

This is my first blog.. Keep on reading!

I discovered that emigration is like climbing a hill. A couple of steps forward, one step back because of steepness, and forward again. Sometimes you fall a little bit back, sometimes everything is on the right track. You never know when you fall, it can even happen when you are doing your best to climb higher. The rope breaks, or rainfall forces you to go down.

My emigration to Canada happened in the blink of an eye. I was on holiday in Vietnam, where I met this beautiful Persian-Canadian guy, and before I knew it I moved to Canada. In my first months, I was not only trying to get used to the Canadian culture of politeness and yoga, I was also trying to get a grasp of the Persian community with its dressed-up parties and hospitality.

A huge cultural exchange took place, in my head and with the people around me. Surprised by the high buildings and big cars, by the beautiful mountain views and the sociablness of the people, I made my first steps into Canadian society. But at the same time, I was surrounded by many Persian immigrants who partly had kept their ways and traditions while living in Vancouver.

In this blog, I'm going to entertain you guys with my life as a Dutch girl in Persian Vancouver. This interesting mix of cultures brings me in such hilarious and special situations, that I cannot wait to write my next blog!
