Piedmont Park is one of the most gorgeous places in Atlanta. Visit it on any given day and you will see frisbee and kickball games being played in the green spaces, people enjoying some reading on picnic blankets, and a rainbow umbrella or two marking the spots of King of Pops vendors.

Piedmont Park is great every day, but it especially comes to life when there is a festival. Festivals are great free events to attend in Atlanta, and they give you the chance to view art and performances and people-watch. The festivals are free to everyone, but you might want to spend the extra $3-4 for a King of Pops, which is a yummy part of the experience.

Some of my favorite memories from being a university student in Atlanta are from attending arts festivals in Piedmont Park with friends. We would often bring a picnic blanket and buy some lunch or coffee from the food trucks that are usually available. Walking and looking at all the art is an inspiration in itself.

Here are some of the festivals to watch out for each year - get your calendars ready!
