Tell us about your Erasmus experience and be in with a chance to win a trip to Ibiza with more than 2500 other international students !

Would you like to win a trip to Ibiza for 5 nights, together with over 2500 other international students? To participate, you simply have to tell us the experience that you’ve had as an exchange student (on Erasmus, ISEP, Sócrates, etc) or also as a traveller in any university, town or city in the world. You can also write about the city you live in! The writer of the best experience will win a ticket to the ESN Ibiza Trip 2011, where you will enjoy a real Mediterranean paradise: fun in the sun, beaches, cultural visits and of course.... lots of parties!

If you want to know a bit more, you can check out the photos of the ESN Ibiza Trip of last years.

This competition is possible thanks to:

  • ESN UAM section, the ESN section of Madrid you will travel with!
  • ESN España (Erasmus Student Network). The European association that offers help to international students.
  • ESN Murcia section.

Who can take part?

Everybody! People that want to write about any city or university in the world. Maybe the special interest to mobility program students, travelers, people in love with their city, etc.

Specially Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus, Séneca, Erasmus Work Placement, Leonardo da Vinci, MEC, ISEP, Sócrates, ILA, EU / USA cooperation, Vulcanus, Comenius, etc.

Competition dates

  • Opens: 15th December 2010. It's already begun!
  • Closes: 20th April 2011
  • We will announce the winners on: May 2011
  • ESN Ibiza Trip: second week of May 2011

First step to participate: Like us!

Go to the Erasmusu Fan Page in Facebook and like us.

Second Step: Write your experience

Write your experience and put a link to it in the Erasmusu Wall in Facebook. Keep reading to know where to submit your experience and to know how to write it.

Where do I submit my experience?

  • Go to the Cities or Universities section of Erasmusu.com.
  • Find the town/university that you’d like to write about.
  • On the title page, click on the button “Write your experience and vote....”
  • Give a score on the different features that you liked about the city/university and write your experience.
  • Remember that you have to be registered in Erasmusu in order to be able to write the Experience

What city or university should I write about?

  • You could write about a city or town that is close to your heart or that you really know a lot about.
  • You could write about the city/university that you came to on Erasmus, or any other mobility program; tell us about your experience in a foreign country!
  • If you see beforehand that there are a lot of experiences about a particular city, for example, in Murcia there’s already a lot, it would be better to write about a city that hasn’t yet been written about.
  • You can of course write about your own city/university of origin because you’ll know it inside out! It would also be useful to tell future international students what to expect if they’re headed there!

How do I write a good experience?

  • Don’t copy from other written texts, you have to be the main author of the experience.
  • Take your time and tell us everything you know about the notable features of the city/university.
  • If you write about a city, it’s important to describe all its different hidden treasures, for example: bars, nightclubs, museums, monuments, etc.
  • You can also contribute valuable information, like links to other informative pages.
  • You can answer questions that would be helpful to future students, for example:

    • Where to stay? And how much does it cost?
    • How is the city? How is the weather?
    • Places to visit. Places to eat. Places to do some good Fiesta
    • Is it a good environment for Erasmus students?
    • Is there any particular advice for future exchange students?
    • Will the experience there fulfil your expectations

  • Write properly, don’t use text message (sms) language. Use paragraphs and line breaks, and above all be creative!
  • And of course, tell us about all the fun things that happen in your city!
  • Here are a few examples of good written experiences:

Do votes from other users increase my chances of winning?

Yes, every experience can be voted for by other users by clicking on the button labelled “Yes, I would recommend this experience....”. Those that receive more user votes have a better chance of winning. Don’t forget to tell your friends to vote for your experience!

You can check out the general ranking to see if you are winning: Erasmus Experience General Ranking.

What language should I write in?

You can write in any language.

Can I write more than one experience?

Yes, you can write as many as you like.

How do we choose the winner?

Out of all the experiences submitted we will choose the best one. The votes received from other users will be taken into consideration; however it may be that the experience with the most votes don’t necessarily win. The winner will be published here and also informed by email.

Don't forget to...

The prize

The biggest exchange student event in Europe: the ESN Ibiza Trip 2011.

You will enjoy the ESN Ibiza trip: more than 2500 exchange students, exclusive boats, nights of partying and islands all in one trip that you will never forget.

The BIGGEST & BEST IBIZA trip made only for ERASMUS students in Spain. This year we celebrate the SIXTH anniversary of the event (we did it for the first time in 2006). Since then, we've been improving it and making it even bigger. Last year we had almost 2,500 attendants, and this year we don´t expect any less. So don´t make plans the second week of May 2011 and come enjoy the authentic MEDITERRANEAN PARADISE with ESN: Sun, beaches, fun, cultural visits, and of course... MUCHA FIESTA! Will you miss it?

Note: The trip starts in the city of Madrid (Spain) and also finishes there. The prize doesn’t include transport to Madrid. However, there are cheap flights to Madrid. You could also fly directly to Ibiza, but you would miss the parties on the boats!

If you have any questions you can write a message!
