Hey guys, hope you all are doing well. Today I want to share with you all a small piece of information about the developing public reforms in Georgia. The Republic Of Georgia a beautiful post soviet country located in the foothills of the great Caucasus range. It has been three years for me in Tbilisi so far. Being a foreigner I'm able to see things in a different way unlike the local people. According to me Tbilisi is a constantly improving nation and I was able to see it with my own eyes. Georgia is constantly developing in the fields of trade, economy, infrastructure, public reforms etc. The classical streets of Marjanishvili about which I wrote an article a couple of days ago was constructed only about a year ago. Similar project is currently being implemented in the streets of Rustaveli. The government of Georgia has made available a free public wi-fi with a name "Tbilisi Loves You" promoting its tourism.

These are on one side but the thing I want to share with you today is about the "Public Service Hall" which started its service this year in Tbilisi. This is an award winning service by the Government of Georgia. This service bought the Ministry of Justice in Georgia the United Nations award for public service last year. I was able to realzie how important the service was only when I went to apply for my temporary resident card.

During my first and the second years in Tbilisi inorder to apply for the temporary resident card or a visa you must visit a seperate office located in various places of the city. If you need some other legal service then you must approach another office which will be located in an entirely new place. This was really time consuming and confusing at a number of occasions. This condition was not only problmatic for the foreigners but also for the local people who had to visit several government offices much frequently than the foreigners do. The government of Georgia inorder to tacle this situation has constructed buildings called Public Service Hall in every region of Georgia. These public service halls brings people all the legal services they need under one roof.!

The first public service hall was opened in Batumi which is now followed by the Public service hall in Tbilisi. These public service halls apart from the service they provide have a futuristic design. Each building has its own architecture and symbolizes the infrastructural transformation that Georgia is rapidly undergoing. The public service halls provides all the major services to the public such as passports, identity cards, licenses, business registration, land document registrations and so forth. Each public service hall does the functions of different government offices in a single building. The functions performed by the public service halls include i] Civil Registry Agency ii] National Agency of public Registration iv] National Archives of Georgia v] Notary Chamber of Georgia. Providing all these services under a single roof enables the citizens to minimize the time loss and do things without getting themselves. Even if you are a foreigner want to apply for a visa or a resident card in Tbilisi then you must approach only this building.

The building in Tbilisi is architecturally wonderful. It is a tall glass building with roof in the form of mushrooms or lotus situated on the bank of the river Mtkvari. There are different areas and banks located inside the building. The areas are broadly divided into three types.

1. Self Service Areas : These includes the place where you can find ATM machines, Automatic photo booths and kiosks to get informations about things you want at the touch of your fingers.

2. Quick Service Areas : This area includes services that would not take more than five minutes. Just as the name suggests you can go and come out in a flash. These includes getting visas, sanctioned identity cards etc.

3. Long Service Areas: This area is for those processes that takes more than five minutes. These generally include applying for a passport, checking deeds, business documentation, documents regarding property etc.

The building also has a spacious car park big enough to manage almost 60 to 80 cars, a cafeteria, All major banks that are found in Georgia and a children play zone with a staff to take care of the children. There are also public computers with internet connections to be used by the public in the Tbilisi Public Service Hall.

All the buses that goes to Baratashivili street will take you to the newly constructed publix service hall in Tbilisi. Some of the bus numbers are 150 from State University h/b, 6 from Nutsubidze street, 14 from Didi Digomi, 140 from State University, 87 from vake,  etc.

On a whole the public service halls in Tbilisi provides a brilliant service to the public. It is a really appreciable step taken by the government to improve the standards of public life. The service provided along with the amazing designs of the buildings gives Georgia a new look among the other countries of the world. I guess this is a really a news that all those who live in Tbilisi must share. Thank you for reading it patiently. Till I publish my next article keep smiling and cheers :) :)
