What is it like to live in Birmingham? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I would reccomend living in Birmingham because there is a great university and student life with lots of things to do.

What is the student lifestyle like in Birmingham?

In student areas like Selly Oak there is an active and enjoyable student lifestyle in Birmingham with lots of events and nights out, cheap places to eat out and only a quick train or bus ride to the city centre.

How much does it cost to live in Birmingham?

Although it is not the cheapest place to live in the UK it is certainly a lot cheaper than London or Bristol, if you look hard enough you can rent a room in a shared house for around £65 a week. Bars and clubs can be quite expensive but there are lots of offers and discounts for students.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Birmingham? Is there any advice you can give?

I did not find it that difficult to find accommodation in Birmingham, you can look through a property agency or the university can help you with finding accommodation.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food in Birmingham is good, especially curry restaurants. There are also a lot of fast food and pizza restaurants as well as reasonably cheap meals in pubs.
