Living in Birmingham can be a student experience. Especially if you are a university student, Selly Oak is the place to live, practically designed for students, cheap places to eat and drink and a 24 hour supermarket, Tescos. It is great for a good night out!
What is the student lifestyle like in Birmingham?
It is really easy going, everything is in reachable distance. There are great student nights out and places to go.
How much does it cost to live in Birmingham?
Accommodation can be expensive but the actually cost of supplies such as food and drink is very cheap!
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Birmingham? Is there any advice you can give?
Selly Oak is the student area…. contact the university for more details. Alternatively halls in Edgebaston.

Chips with curry sauce!
What places would you recommend visiting in Birmingham?
Visit the bull ring…great shopping. The university campus is very pretty. And the mailbox!
Is it good to eat out in Birmingham? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes there is a wide range of restaurants from students, to chain to independent. I love sell sausage for breakfast, very cheap and ideal for students. Then places in the bull ring such as wagga mamas etc...
Is the nightlife good in Birmingham? Where is good to go?
Yes. Stupid Tuesdays and players, vodball at rise, mechu for a posh night.
What advice would you give future students heading to Birmingham?
Enjoy living the student life for your time in Birmingham!
