Why did you choose to go to Birmingham, United Kingdom?

Being the second largest city in England, and having one of the best Universities in all Kingdom, Birmingham is a really appealing choice for students.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The EU scholarship lasts for one year and depends on the length of your period, but shouldn't be more than 300 euros per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Birmingham?

The Uni is demanding and the level of English required is high. So we spent most of the time studying, but you can always manage to have some spare time to go out with friends and travel around the UK.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Birmingham to other students?

Definitely

What is the food like?

Food in the UK isn't extraordinary, though quite new for Southern Mediterranean students.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Birmingham?

It's that easy, but Sally Oak is the best place for students.

How much does it cost to live in Birmingham?

around 400£ per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Language is easy and there are plenty of courses for non-native speakers at the uni.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Birmingham from your city?

Surely by plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Birmingham?

City centre is good, though students normally stay in Sally Oak

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Birmingham?

There are really good local restaurants right in the centre, close to the main station.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are some canals and building such as the Victoria Square. though the most beautiful part is the countryside and neighbouring cities (e.g. Stratford-Upon-Avon).

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Birmingham in the future?

Just enjoy the Erasmus period, and try to get the most of it, because it's gonna be one of the best experiences in your life ;)
