Why did you choose to go to Bern, Switzerland?
Bern is a city which doesn't really look like a city. I like the fact that it looks more like a village and less busy, except for the working hours. The slow pace in the city makes people relax, unlike the big cities.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I didn't receive any scholarship. I need minimum 1200 CHF a month to support my basic living like rent, transportation, foods etc.
What is the student lifestyle like in Bern?
If you're living in a student house, it will be more lively because there are always activities going on. There's an organisation ESN (Erasmus Student Network) which host activities like hiking trips, tours, parties etc. As a student in Bern, you will never be alone.
What is the food like?
The typical food from Switzerland is mainly cheese and chocolate. If you're not a fan of that there're always people whom you can cook with. There're always international dinners from the students from all over the country which you can participate.
How much does it cost to live in Bern?
Minimum 1200 CHF per month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Not so easy for new learners. Language courses are available but you need to know the basic to enter.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Bern from your city?
By flight.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Bern?
Rondel, Propeller and Turnhalle.
