Why did you choose to go to Bern, Switzerland?

Because it was my only option to go and try to experience something new.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scolarship is for 6 months as the period of my staying in Bern. It's about 280 euros per month but they give you all the amount soon as you arrive.

What is the student lifestyle like in Bern?

Well, i can talk about my lifestyle there. I go to class, grocery shop if I need to then go home to the student lodge. When the weekend comes i usually go out with my friends and that's it. I visited a lot of Bern and Lausanne too but i have to visit more cities still.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Bern to other students?

If you have other options no...Bern is beautiful but is very quiet and it's not that i don't like that but sometimes it gets boring.

But if you're planning to come here you should because even with her quietness Bern can give you a lot to explore.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Bern?

No, it didn't i just searched on the internet.

How much does it cost to live in Bern?

Currently I'm sharing the room with my friend, so I pay less that others do. I live in a student lodge and per month I pay 420CHF. For Switzerland is pretty cheap but I have a private bathroom. The kitchen and the dining room is shared with the other flatmates. Normally a single room with no bathroom would cost 600CHF or more i think. As for the normal shared apartments you have to pay more. You can do grocery to Aldi's or Denner they are not so expensive. But the meat and the fish cost a lot in general.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I'm not studying swiss german. But yes, there are some courses for who's interested in learning the language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Bern from your city?

Per month I pay 60CHF to travel around Bern with every kind of public transportation: train, bus and tram.

But I paid 185CHF just once for all year for the Half Fare so I can go wherever I want in Switzerland half of the price.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Bern?

You can go to drink to the Taxi bar which is right in front of Turnahalle, another "club".

Usually I go to the Cuba bar, it's little but at least people dance there... There is the Dû Théâtre which is nice too.

You don't get to have big clubs but it's still nice.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Einstein house, the parliament, history museum, communication museum, rose garden, botanic garden, bears park...
