Berlin is a huge lively international city , with people from all over the world , expensive when it comes to rental prices , but otherwise affordable , the city has all kinds of restaurants , shops , night life spots and an excellent transport system

around 400-500 for a room
50 for monthly transport ticket
the rest ( food and entertainment) can be anywhere from 100-500) according to habits and life style

yes , try well in advance

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

every thing is available , most abundant are wurst( sausage ) - turkish doner and italian Pasta

What places would you recommend visiting in Berlin?

alexander platz - museum island - brandbenburg gate and the surrounding area till the victory monument - PArks (many of them)
