Experience in Berlin, Germany by Joël
What is it like to live in Berlin? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The city is big and you have a lot of opportunities to do stuff. I would recommend to live in Berlin if you love big cities.
What is the student lifestyle like in Berlin?
It is nice regarding the teaching because you can visit every other university in Berlin and take the credit points for your own course of studies. Sometimes it is a bit too impersonal. Everyone is engaged with himself.
How much does it cost to live in Berlin?
Of course, the flats are expensive. But there are some student accomodations which are fine. As there are many restaurants and shops in Berlin, you can always find something in your price class.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Berlin? Is there any advice you can give?
If you search for a student accomodation, it should fine. My advice is to see about it as soon as possible.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
I like food. There is everything in Berlin, from low quality fast food to noble dinner restaurants.
What places would you recommend visiting in Berlin?
The main monuments of course. But not too much. There are some areas around berlin, more rural, which I would recommend if you don't want the big city life all the time. Tegelort is nice.
Is it good to eat out in Berlin? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
As I said, the are restaurants at every corner, for every taste. As a student, of course, I am eating in the canteen. Sometimes it is good, and sometimes not.
Is the nightlife good in Berlin? Where is good to go?
There are many clubs. Depends on the music, where you want to go. I am not going anymore to clubs.
What advice would you give future students heading to Berlin?
Just relax and get your organisation started as soon as possible.
