Why did you choose to go to Berlin, Germany?
Going to Berlin was my dream. I had heard a lot about this city, so I wanted to see it with my own eyes.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I got the scholarship for 3 months, 400 Euros per month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Berlin?
A lot of to do and see. You have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Berlin is very international.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Berlin to other students?
Yes, I would recommend the city to other students. Visiting Berlin is worth it. I do not know anything about the university, because I did my internship in Berlin.
What is the food like?
The food is ok. There is a great variety of food in supermarkets. And of course, a lot of not expensive restaurants offering cuisine from all over the world.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Berlin?
For me it was not that hard to find an accommodation, because I guess, I was really lucky. I found the apartment on one of the students' websites. But be careful when you are searching for an accommodation, there are a lot of scams.
How much does it cost to live in Berlin?
It depends on the apartment, the food you like, how much money you spend on partying and shopping. But you need not less than 500 euros per month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
I do not know about courses in the university.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Berlin from your city?
Lufthansa airlines, airBaltic airlines.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Berlin?
I did not go out that much. Anyways, you can ask people, it depends what kind of music you like. Berlin has a lot of to offer.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Berlin?
I liked "Que pasa" and an Indian restaurant at Warschauer Strasse. The prices are affordable and food is delicious.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Of course, Brandenburger Tor, the museums... everything. You should make a classical sightseeing tour around Berlin. And go to the zoo and to Potsdam.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Berlin in the future?
Be prepared to see a lot of creepy people around.
