Signing off from my Erasmus journey

The day that I never thought would come, has finally arrived and even sooner than I expected. It's come just as I was starting to get accustomed to everything new like my apartment; my classes; the parties; travelling; my night time escapades, where I may or may not have said on more than one occasion that I was going to have "an easy night" then only a few hours later be seen "giving it my all at the local bar". To the friends I have made, I now classify you as my family. I've made many memories during my experience and I'll always remember my fridge, completely vacant of food but always surprisingly stocked full of beer; my laziness in not going to cheer-leading practice when I should have; my attempts of not just getting close to just my fellow Spaniards and my beginners language lesson in Norwegian, where I learnt to not only say my name but also how to cheers accompanied always by a beer in hand. Now, I'm facing the chaotic stress of suitcase packing which never seems to end and the sadness of having to leave the place I've called home for the last 6 months, but at the same time I take pleasure in acknowledging that I will soon be back in my childhood home.

I'm now saying goodbye to a period of my life in which I have grown up and matured through learning to believe in myself more and value more things which I previously took for granted. Sometimes, you can take something positive from endings because as the saying goes, when one door closes another opens and with that comes more exciting adventures, better than you had perhaps previously envisioned. I shouldn't feel sad about moving on from my Erasmus experience but instead content and lucky to have experienced all the memories and experiences I have shared with others throughout my Erasmus journey. I'm moving onto the next stage now, but no one could ever take away the memories I have made during the last 6 months as they will stay with me for the rest of my life.
