Why did you choose to go to Bergen, Norway?

It's a beautiful Nordic city, that has incredible landscapes and lots of life.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Mine was only for 4 months. I got €2, 000 in total.

What is the student lifestyle like in Bergen?

There are a lot of students there, from Norway and from all over the world. The streets are always full of people.

Would your recommend the city and the university of Bergen to other students?

Without a doubt. It's a very good choice for your Erasmus experience. It's not very big, everyone goes on the same nights out and there's a lot to do there.

What is the food like there?

The salmon and fish there, in general, is really good.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Bergen?

No, the NHH university handled it all for me and I lived in a residence 2 minutes away from the university.

How much does it cost to live in Bergen?

A lot, minimum €1, 000 a month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Everyone there speaks perfect English. If you want to learn Norwegian, you can do so at the university but it's not super useful.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Bergen from your city?

By plane.

Where would you recommend for a night out in Bergen?

Lille, Metro, Ollebull. There are loads of little bars to go out to. If you go to the NHH, you can also go to Klubben, the club at the university, which is the biggest in Bergen.

And to eat in Bergen? What are some of your favourite places to go to?

Going out to eat is pretty expensive, but there's a Portuguese steakhouse, a restaurant called Zupperia and then a lot of other places, but they are very expensive.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Do not just stay in Bergen, you absolutely have to travel to the mountains, go on hikes like Trolltunga, Kjeralbolten or Preikestolen which are amazing.

Do you have any advice for students coming to Bergen in the future?

It's great here. The atmosphere, the charm of the city, everything.
