Going to Bergamo thanks to Ryanair

As the title says, I went to Bergamo thanks to Ryanair.

I spent my Erasmus in Greece and, the cheapest flight to get to my destination was passing through Bergamo and from there going to Thessaloniki. People told me that Bergamo was a very small city with nothing interesting to see, indeed I found out more negative comments rather than positive ones.

That's completely false, actually stupid! I really loved Bergamo.

Just in front of the airport there is a huge shopping centre (Orio Center) which you can get to simply by walking for a few minutes through a tunnel, because between the airport and the plaza there is just a street. Here are some useful links that you can consult:

The shopping centre is really good, but I'd recommend that you visit the city itself, it's really worth it. There are some urban buses that take you directly into the city centre, but it's a matter of checking everything once you arrive there. I don't remember it being at all complicated.

I remember that I arrived quite early in the city and the tourist office was still closed. Anyway, when they opened they helped me a lot by giving me a map of the city and telling me the best things to see in Bergamo. After that I went off to explore. Bergamo is divided in two: Cittá Alta (the Upper town) and Cittá Bassa (the Lower town).

I advise going to the Upper town with by taking the funicular and visiting the medieval neighbourhood. It really impressed me.

I've been there twice and I really look forward going back another time. If you have any doubts you can contact me and I'll see if I can be of any help.

I'll add some photos so you can see how nice Bergamo is for yourself.
