What is the student lifestyle like in Belfast?

Crazy mad. Unlike many european counterparts, students in Belfast move out of the family home as soon as they get a place in university, even if it's just down the street. Partying on weekdays is most common, Monday and Wednesday are great nights out.

How much does it cost to live in Belfast?

Food and drink prices are much more expensive than similar towns in England. Property rentals are cheaper so it balances itself out a bit.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Belfast? Is there any advice you can give?

Most students come from Northern Ireland and rent in Belfast for the full academic year, SO properties get all rented in August and September.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Local traditional cuisine is pretty much meat and a lot of potatoes, students live on cheaper items, baked beans, cheese, bread and anything that you can heat in a microwave.

What places would you recommend visiting in Belfast?

The Dome at the Victoria Square, The Gaol at the Antrim Road.

Is it good to eat out in Belfast? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, food out is great from ubiquitous Nando's to Bubbaque, Meat in a Bap and Pub Fare which is usually the best value for money.

Is the nightlife good in Belfast? Where is good to go?

Fantastic, there is where it excels itself. Life music most nights, great dj offerings. The Box, Limelight, Stiff Kitten, Hatfield, Bot, Scratch @ Lavery's, the list is endless. Fancier offerings around the Cathedral Quarter such is The National, Northern Wig, The Hudson, Alley Cat.

What advice would you give future students heading to Belfast?

Do a crash course in Common Sense and you will fly through your Uni years.
