Even though I thought I had a good level of English before coming, it was hard adapting to the language for the first few days. They have a very strong accent, especially in the districts Holyland and City Centre. They also have certain words and their own local expressions, like the word "wee" (means small, but they use it for almost everything), the phrase "what the crack"(means how are you/what's going on), or "happy days" (when you did a great job". But you get used to the sound and start understanding everything.
