Previous Erasmus students came back with the best stories of all compared to other destinations. Belfast is a place where everybody gets drunk early in the evening. So there is a lot of partying going on. It is very frequented by Erasmus students.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
6 months. I don´t remember the amount of money I received.

Belfast is a small city in which it is easy to get around. The university is an amazing building. Legend says that the plans got mixed up with a university in another place so they got a small one.
The Northern Irish have their problems amongs themselves but towards foreigners they are extremely open. There are a lof of Erasmus students in Belfast so you will not feel alone. A lot of parties and great university material at your disposal.

It was one of the best experiences of my life.
What is the food like?
English food is not the best in the world but there are other options.
How did you find your accommodation?
There are some halls in which a lot of students go. I believe they were called Ogilvy.
What are the accommodation prices like? What are prices like for other things in general?
Belfast is one of the cheapest places compared to the rest of the UK and Ireland.

In the beginning the Irish accent needs some getting used to. However, after a while you understand most of it.

Fly to Dublin and afterwards a bus.

Speakeasy.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Belfast?
I don't remember (It was 14 years ago! ).
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Both the protestant and catholic neighbourhoods have impressive murals. Don´t go there at night and don´t take too much money. The neighbourhoods have a low income so it is not a place to take a golden watch. The rest of Belfast is safe. The university is impressive. The townhall as well. (London) Derry is close. Ireland and Scotland as well.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Belfast in the future?
Have fun.
