What is it like to live in Belfast? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Belfast is a fantastic city to live in. The people are crazy but in a good way! You will always feel at home here. Belfast people have a distinct dark sense of humour so don’t be afraid lol! Everyone knows about the city’s past but the city is so welcoming and diverse! Everything here is ten minutes away!

What is the student lifestyle like in Belfast?

The student lifestyle is amazing! Botanic Avenue, Dublin road and the cathedral quarter have all the best music and entertainment with bars to suit everyone!

How much does it cost to live in Belfast?

Of the UK and Ireland Belfast Is probably one of the most cost effective cities! You definitely get your moneys worth

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Belfast? Is there any advice you can give?

There is an explosion of student accommodation in Belfast! A lot of this is costly as you are tied into a year contract even though you may be here for one or two semesters so be sure to check your landlord can do month by month contracts. Most students that stay with me prefer this option.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

We have amazing restaurants in Belfast and lots of Michelin star restaurants. There is something great for all budgets and tastes!

What places would you recommend visiting in Belfast?

City hall is obviously a good starting point! Call into cafe parisienne for a drink and people watch to get your bearings. Head to the titanic quarter to see some history and maybe do a mural tour. The cathedral quarter is fantastic for beer gardens and great food

Is it good to eat out in Belfast? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Mumbai 27 for Indian food is a must. Made in Belfast is fantastic. Mourne Seafood bar for some local fish dishes. Boojum for the burrito addicts. Maggie Mays for a traditional Irish fry! Kelly’s cellars for a pint of Guinness!

Is the nightlife good in Belfast? Where is good to go?

Cuba de revolution is great filthy Mc nasteys is also a great spot: you can’t go wrong with the harp bar in the cathedral quarter or call into the merchant hotel for a cocktail. There are many nightclubs you have to see them to love them! And Belfast is so small they are all a few minutes walk from eachother

What advice would you give future students heading to Belfast?

Relax. Make your own judgement on the city. Meet new people learn our funny ways and make sure you get the best experience. Always bring your student card too! Most places offer great discounts!
