What is it like to live in Beirut? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

beirut is a very lively city, although it is small, it is very diverse, you can find various restaurants, pubs, clubs, as entertainment there is always something to do and events taking place
there are a few parks that are nice
transportation is not very good, taxis are the most common tranportation tool, buses are not that organised.

people are friendly and fun

What is the student lifestyle like in Beirut?

there are many universities in beirut, and the student life is great!

How much does it cost to live in Beirut?

i would say an average of 800$ a month including rent (shared apartment or dorm room), food, transportation and going out

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Beirut? Is there any advice you can give?

most of the universities have dorms,
it's not very hard to find student housing or small appartments near the universities

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

i would recommend everybody to try some authentic lebanese food such as fatouch, hummus, taboule, chich taouk...

What places would you recommend visiting in Beirut?

i would recommend gemmayze and mar mikhael streets for good pubs and nice restaurants
downtown and beirut souks are nice as well as zaituna bay
hamra street, raouche, sanaeh garden, the beirut national museum and other museums near it

What advice would you give future students heading to Beirut?

relax, have fun and enjoy the experience
