What is it like to live in Beirut? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Beirut is pretty hectic, although it is very interesting and it teaches you a lot. I would definitely recommend it especially if you're a student.

What is the student lifestyle like in Beirut?

Depending on whether or not a student is in a university dorms, the student lifestyle somewhat varies. If you live in an apartment alone the student life can be very interesting as the independence can help the student discover more of the country. Normally students from outside Lebanon that live in dorms tend to just stay in the area of their university.

How much does it cost to live in Beirut?

The costs is pretty expensive, especially if a student has an apartment, rent in Beirut can be pretty expensive. However if you take the time to discover the local restaurants and bars you can live on a relatively low budget.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Beirut? Is there any advice you can give?

Finding affordable accommodation is pretty hard, however if you're going to a university they usually help with that process by giving you dorm options. Furthermore if you come to Beirut a couple of months before your program starts there are usually other student compounds right next to the universities with affordable prices. You can also go and check university groups on social media and ask for accommodations or roommates. People in Beirut tend to be more responsive on social media platforms.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is the best thing in Lebanon, we're known for it!

What places would you recommend visiting in Beirut?

All places in Beirut are interesting and different. However if you are a foreigner I would advise you not to go to the suburbs without a local with you.

Eating out in Beirut is the best way to find out more about the culture and mix of religions and ethnic groups that we have.

Is the nightlife good in Beirut? Where is good to go?

Ask around, if you want to party, Beirut is where it's at! We have the best parties and concerts in the Middle East. If you do a bit of research you'll see that our nightclubs are one of the top rankede clubs in the world. BO18 (the best club here) even took the first place in djmag top 100 clubs worldwide. Another known party in Lebanon is C U NXT SAT, taking place every Saturday and hosting the best nights with local and international talent.
