Spanish people and their characteristics

Friendliness, sincerity, courage, excitement, willingness…

The best personal characteristics you can ever imagine. When someone says he or she comes from Spain, you usually visualize horny cheeky boys, football players (or noisy fans of FC Barcelona) or typical street musicians. The truth is, that these properties characterize only few of Spanish and Catalunya citizens. In reality, these people try to reach the best of their lives and enjoy every minute, but in a moral way (for the ones, I have managed to meet or talk to). For example, my roommate told me: Always, Maria, remember and listen to your heart. Such a deep thought!

My personal experience: When boy goes out with a girlfriend, he does not look at the other girls or search through the internet, social media on his mobile phone. He is sincerely devoted to his love – his girlfriend. He tries to express his feelings and love by many ways.

I must also share one of my personal experiences. Few days ago, I was crossing the pavement and intersection, when I noticed, that one man is directly staring at me. He was around middle age. I felt a little bit scary and strangely. Then he started to follow me, and in unexpected moment, he just started to sing a song. The text was in Spanish, so I did not understand almost at all. I turned and looked at him and he was still gazing at me. I thought that he must get drunk or that is not serious, but when he continued with singing and following me, I realized, he sang for me! It seemed like a joke. But it was not. I was a little bit shy, what I could expect from him. Later on, when he started a discussion with me, it turned out, he is a famous local singer and we begin to talk about music (because I also used to sing in the past and I also play the piano). So we share our common hobby and I make a new friend.

Lets turn to the other sort of Barcelona people – for example my roommates. In comparison to Czech people, they are always smiling, chilling and willing to help. And they cook so excellently! I have never met such a skilled cooks before (and despite the fact, they are boys! ) Regardless their cooking talent, they are also awesome musicians – guitarists, violinists,.. During their play, the do not use sheets, they are able to improvise and create the melody and propriate achords in their minds! ASTONISHING…

I am really grateful for people I have met there during my stay in Barcelona and I think most of us have a lot of to learn from them!
