Barcelona: 7 essential locations

Hello!

Today I'm going to tell you about a city you'll love: Barcelona!

My trip to Barcelona was not planned, I went by chance. My uncle, Barista, participated in the National Barista Championships celebrated in Barcelona this year, and therefore my family took the opportunity to visit and explore the city of Barcelona.

It surprised me for the better - a lot - and I still like it even more. You will like everything in Barcelona, from its streets to its gastronomy, each step you take inside this city you will love.

After my visit to this city, I have created a list in which I have gathered the places which are essential to visit (in my opinion):

- La Barceloneta

Without a doubt, for me I'm referring to the sense of atmosphere. Spend a day at the spectacular beach, the restaurants are magnificent and you will be able to enjoy fried fish, sea food and paella. How tasty!

Lose yourself in the precious streets, but go with a direction in mind, it's better to go to where these beautiful streets take you. I'm sure you will enjoy it!

Enjoy the Barceloneta!

- The Sagrada Familia

You can't go to Barcelona and not visit the Sagrada Familia! It's like not even going to Barcelona. Up until then I had only it in seen photos, on television or the internet and it seemed impressive. When I saw it in person, I was lost for words.

Impressive from both the inside and out. It's interioir, similar to a wooden forest, spectacular.

However, the exterior is highlighted by the towers. A wonder!

An essential visit in Barcelona.

- Güell Park.

Marvellous, another work of art by Gaudí. For me, it's an obligatory visit in Barcelona.

I love the rippled form that covers the whole of the park, these columns that look like trees and the geometric figures, as well as all of the colourful mosaics on the park surfaces.

An authentic wonder.

Although it's true, the thing I liked most about the park is the large square where you can find a huge bench in the shape of a snake made of little pieces of ceramic.

If you have time, visit the Gaudi House Museum. I couldn't, but anything new is interesting.

Walk and discover the park, get to know places like the Hypostyle Hall, the Guardian House, the Gardens of Austria...

Enjoy the park! Wonderful!

- Montjüic Hill

One of the best viewpoints in Barcelona, you arrive from the España Square and you pass by the Venecian towers.

You can enjoy the Magic Fountain on this mountain where, with a little more luck than I had, you will be able to enjoy a light and water spectacle in the evening.

Furthermore, in Montjüic you will be able to see the National Museum of Art, the Olympic Ring, the Saint Jordi Palaxe and the Calatrava Communications Tower.

I was also able to see the Montjüic Castle, and enjoy beautiful views of the city and sea.

Without a doubt, it is very worth a visit in Barcelona.

- Las Ramblas

An iconic street in Barcelona, there's shops, atmosphere, restaurants... Lots of things to do, but above all walk there in order to get to know and enjoy the atmosphere that surrounds this part of Barcelona.

I sat on a terrace to relax, it was magnificent, everything has to be said; while you see people coming and going.

In the Ramblas you will get to know the different areas you will be able to enjoy, like the Grand Theatre Liceo, the Colón Viewpoint, and the Canaletes Rambla, you will enjoy the atmosphere and maybe the more animated and busy area.

Walk, get to know and enjoy all of the places along Las Ramblas.

Furthermore, in the Rambla of the Flowers you can enjoy the Saint José Market or, better known as the "La Boquería", it's amazing! It was what I liked the most.

It's a mix of impressive colours and flavours, as well as the atmosphere that's concentrated in this place, it is one of the most on-trend tourist areas of Barcelona and, without a doubt, it will certainly not leave you indifferent.

Because it can only be a market, like any other market in any other city, but no; 'La Boquería' has something special, the atmosphere, the colours, the flavours, all those fresh products that you can buy and taste in it.

How marvellous!

It is a must-see!

- The Gothic Quarter

The oldest part of the City, but it is beautiful!

Furthermore, you can enjoy much more things in the Gothic Quarter, like The Royal Square, the Jewish Quarter, the Church and Square of Saint Felip Neri, the Bisbe Road, the Church of Saint Ana, the Cathedral of Saint Creu and Saint Eulàlia, the Jaume Square, Els4Gats, the Palace of Bisbe, the King's Square and the Museum of the History of the City, the Temple of Augusto and the street of Portal de L'Angel, the most commercial from my point of view.

I enjoyed this neighbourhood a lot, getting know and walking through it, letting myself go down its narrow streets as far as they would take me. Without a doubt, it's for me the best way to enjoy the places that I visit and that are so beautiful.

Wonderful!

- Battló House

Located in one of the most well-known avenues of Barcelona, Avenue Paseo de Gracia, this house is impressive! A lot more impressive than what you can see digitally or in photos, that's why going to see it is very much worth it.

It is an avenue that has a lot of atmosphere with bars, restaurants and shops from the most famous and well-known brands.

The façade of the Batlló House is impressive and leaves all its visitors awestruck, it is another work of art by Gaudi.

Wonderful!

This city is another wonderful city to visit in Spain, it has a lot of places to explore, many marvellous locations, and lots of enchanting corners.

Barcelona is to enjoy the sea, all of its parks, all its monuments and finally, all of its magnificent corners.

Barcelona is a city that deserves to be known by oneself, because what is essential for me may not be for others, as it has many things and very nice places.

Enjoy Barcelona!

See you in the next post, travellers!
