What is it like to live in Baku? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I'm sorry. But I wouldn't recommend to live in Baku for any student.
To live in Baku as an Azerbaijanian Citizen isn't good thing. I can explain everything in real but not by mail or something. Thanks.

What is the student lifestyle like in Baku?

Student lifestyle isn't good far enough. State doesn't compromise the students.

How much does it cost to live in Baku?

Cost to live in Baku isn't expensive. (just for foreign students) But as I say for local students the prices are really high.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Baku? Is there any advice you can give?

Yeah it is a bit difficult. The renters don't want to rent their property to male students for no reason (maybe there is a reason, But I haven't found it yet).

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Local foods are amazing and don't cost so much. You can have a taste of them.

What places would you recommend visiting in Baku?

I would recommend to visit historical monuments, The home museums of historical persons (for example Samad Vurgun).

Is it good to eat out in Baku? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Eat out in Baku... I must say that you have to be careful about local restaurants. My favourite spots are Tarhun, Ozsut for dinner meals.

Is the nightlife good in Baku? Where is good to go?

Nightlife in Baku can be interesting if you live near centre. But in suburbs nightlife not so good, it may be even dangerous.

What advice would you give future students heading to Baku?

I wouldn't recommend it. Because the life itself in Azerbaijan isn't good as students think. Thanks for the interview.
