What is it like to live in Bacau? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Bacau is a small quiet city in the eastern part of Romania. I highly recommend Bacau because is very active but if you want to rest you can find nice places to do it
What is the student lifestyle like in Bacau?
There are two Universities in Bacau: "" Vasile Alecsandri" And "George Bacovia" where you ca study : Law, Economics, Engineering, Sports, languages and others. There is also a student association called "Liga studentilor". And as in many other places students have many facilities.
How much does it cost to live in Bacau?
Live in Bacau is not expensive. Prices are like this:
a loaf of bread 0.2 euro
an egg 0.1 euro
a beer (in a bar) - about 1 euro (in the supermarket) - about 0.5 euro
Food in pubs or fast foods is also accessible.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bacau? Is there any advice you can give?
Is difficult to find accommodation via Internet but at every University there are professors that are willing to help the incoming students. Prices are also low.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The food is very good and divers.
What places would you recommend visiting in Bacau?
I recommend some place near Bacau (at about 5 km)... like Gheraiesti Park, Magura, and inside the city you have "Insula de agrement".
Is it good to eat out in Bacau? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes there are many places where you can find good food to eat. There are pubs like "Pub-s", Manhattan, Piazzetta, and others; but there are also good restaurants like: Hanovra, Green Park, Miorita, Sfinx, where you can also find excellent food.
Is the nightlife good in Bacau? Where is good to go?
There are a couple of places that have Student Parties for students. The most popular place is Kremlin.
