Experience in Amman, Jordan by Rose
How much does it cost to live in Amman?
For students it costs around 210JD (300$) per month and they would be pretty comfortable with that budget. That includes accomodation, food, water for drinking, water for other purposes, heating, electricity, and gas. And If you need to add some entertainment you would need just alittle more starting from 20JD and higher.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Amman? Is there any advice you can give?
It's not difficult but you would need to search alittle bit before you find a perfect place for you. For a foreigner who has no one here to help would be better off using the assistance of specialised small private companies that can help tremendously for a small fee and they are all over the place.
The rent ranges from 50JD to 400JD and it depends on the apartment's space, number of rooms, and the district you choose to live in (ranges from very poor districts to very rich ones)
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The city's restaurants provide all kinds of dishes: Chinese, Italian, Amarican, Arabic, fast food, cooked meals, healthy and unhealthy, and all kinds of sweets and desserts.
Also you can find almost all of the internationally renowned restaurants and Caffès.
Is the nightlife good in Amman? Where is good to go?
The city almost never sleeps so the nightlife is perfect and there are several places to go depending on your taste : Clubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, cinemas, private parties, and malls.
