What is it like to live in Amman? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Amman is a beautiful small city . We don't live in tents or ride camels as we are thought to . Actually, there are many great developments in the city.
Amman is a safe place to live in. Once you visit Amman you will fall in love with it . IT should be on your bucket list .

What is the student lifestyle like in Amman?

The student lifestyle in Amman is not different from any student's lifestyle all around the world. We don't spend our entire time studying. We go out and enjoy our time . Many students work and study to pay for their fees . There are good part time job offers for students.Attending classes is a must at all universities . There is a certain limit for your absences . You don't want to exceed this limit. .

How much does it cost to live in Amman?

Amman is not an expensive city. An average student would need 300 JD per month .

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Amman? Is there any advice you can give?

It's so easy to find accommodation in Amman especially for students. Depending on the university you're attending , you can find many studios for rent with reasonable prices around it. Or you can choose to live with a family .

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Traditional Jordanian food tastes good . We have our unique spiced up dishes . It's good to give them a try . As for my favourite dish it's mansaf .

What places would you recommend visiting in Amman?

A tour at the downtown is a must starting from having breakfast at Hashem "A local falafel restaurant " to having dessert " knafeh" at habiba .
If you want to socialize and meet other foreign people you have to visit "Al weibdeh" and enjoy a cup of tea at "rumi" then have an eclair at fayrouz patisserie .
You could visit "jabal amman" and enjoy walking between its ancient houses .
You have to go to the boulevard especially during official holidays where festivals are held yearly .
Grab your friends and go paintball . You would have great time .
If you are into shopping we have good shopping malls with well known different brands ( city mall , taj mall , mecca mall , Abdali mall and galleria mall ).
If you want to go out of Amman . Go to the dead sea which is the lowest point on earth and enjoy having a relaxing day .If you want to go wild you can go skydiving in the dead sea but this is not available all over the year make sure you book before you go.
If you are an adventurous person you could go camping to Wadi Rum and enjoy hiking its beautiful mountains . Make sure you wake up before sunrise to enjoy the beautiful breathtaking view . After wadi rum , you have to visit Petra one of the seven wonders .
There are also great camps in ajloun where you get to meditate between its thousand years old trees .

Is it good to eat out in Amman? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

We have good restaurants in Amman . Starting from restaurants that serve Arabian food to international restaurants .
As a student i frequently eat junk food . We have many good burger restaurants that serve the best burgers with the cheapest prices .
Pizza and shawerma are good choices .

Is the nightlife good in Amman? Where is good to go?

Nightlife in Amman is good . There are many good pubs in town . Jabal Amman and abdoun host the most .

What advice would you give future students heading to Amman?

Don't hesitate coming to Amman . It would be a great experience , you would learn a lot about our culture , our customs and traditions . You would make great memories with great people .
Education in Amman is excellent . We do have the best schools and universities .
