Why did you choose to go to Almeria, Spain?
I chose almeria because i finnished Language Bilingual Class with spannish. That means that i am interested in spannish culture and i love Meditearrean diet and of course this language. And i wanted to be in the place where would be sea and sun. Besides that south of Spain is quite cheap in comparhison to another parts of the contry.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
This 9 months. My scholaship is 380 euros.
What is the student lifestyle like in Almeria?
It has a amazing way to the University which still fascinate me. University is located at the sea. Profesors are comprensible. There are only several subjects in english. Our ESN is really involved. Thay organize always something! Many trips, parties, meetings on the beach, matches and various games, language exchanges, etc.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Almeria to other students?
Yes i would. Depends on what who is serching for. Location is great and unique but level of studies is no so high...
What is the food like?
Strange question. Mediterrean diet, tradicional spannish food, many restauranst, pizzeria and also as everywhere fast food. Tapas from 1.60 - 2,50.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Almeria?
No, there is a big choice. I did by myself but ESN has a base and thay can help you with everything.
How much does it cost to live in Almeria?
Rent is from 150 - 250 euros... And than depends on you what type of person u are. If u eat outside is more expensive than cooking for yourself.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes, thay offer you one free course. U can get ects for it. In my case is hard to say, but i think if u just wanna learn and u try to talk is easy to catch spannish language. It sounds beautiful!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Museum of Guitar, Museum of Almeria, Archeological museum, La Guajira, Center of Photography...
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Almeria in the future?
Discover all the time! Don't be shy and ask and search! Live new things, take profit of the sun and weather. Buy your own bike!
