Why did you choose to go to Almería, España?

Because my thesis subject was align to one of professor whom teach in UAL.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

About 6 month. I recieved 700 euros per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Almería?

It is good here. You can rent a cheap room to stay. The food price is cheap. It is better to share a house to decrease your costs.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Almería to other students?

Yes, I do both, but students that want to study here, should learn Spanish first, because most of people living here do not speak English.

What is the food like?

There are variety of food here. Seafood, meat, Jamon and there are many restaurants.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Almería?

No, because I find a single room through University of Almeria website.

How much does it cost to live in Almería?

About 450 to 550.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is not easy but not difficult. Spanish words are divided to masculine and feminine, and it is a little difficul, but there some words are the same in English.

Yes, there are language course in university for international students, but you should pay for that.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Almería from your city?

I arrived in Spain with airplane in Madrid airport. Then went to bus station. The cheapest way is bus. It take 6 hours from Madrid to Almeria.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Almería?

I do not have any idea. When I arrived here, I directly went to my room.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Almería?

I usually eat in the university cafeteria or self service, but there are many restaurant here.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Alcazaba, the Cathedral church, Guitar museum...

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Almería in the future?

To learn Spanish first.
