Because it's a cheap city and there is the beach

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

350 euro per month (3 months)

What is the student lifestyle like in Almeria?

It's cool living and studying there. It's a small city in comparison with Madrid, Malaga, Valencia, Seville, etc., so you can easily make friends and meet them in the city.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Almeria to other students?

Yes, it's good.

What is the food like?

You will always eat tapas because they're delicious and cheap. There are some tapas that are typical of Almeria.

Yes because there aren't many flats in comparison with the number of students.

How much does it cost to live in Almeria?

I think more or less 700/800€ per month (including everything: accommodation, food, parties, activities, bus pass)

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

In my case, it was easy to get to grips with because I studied it at the University.
At the University of Almeria, there are free languages courses for students who are not from the EU. But you can join them anyway by paying a subscription. (I don't know if next year will be the same)

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Almeria from your city?

By plane to Malaga and then by bus till Almeria

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Almeria?

At the discos or at the pubs which are located in the area "Las 4 calles"

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Almeria?

Tio Tom is the cheapest restaurant in which I've eaten. But my favourite is "La consentida".

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

La Alcazaba, el museo del cine, el desierto de taberna, el museo de los refugios de la guerra civil, el museo de la guitarra.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Almeria in the future?

Don't miss this opportunity
