What attracts you to living in Alicante? Do you recommend it? What's it like?
Alicante is a very calm and beautiful city, I definitely recommend it as a place to live. The weather is really good which allows you to visit lots of places and makes everything more beautiful too!
What's the student lifestyle like in Alicante?
The university isn't in Alicante, but in San Vicente del Raspeig which is a small town outside of Alicante. The student lifestyle is great and all the facilities and faculties are next to each other and are well-connected.
How much does it cost to live in Alicante?
Living in Alicante is a bit expensive, but it also depends on whereabouts you're looking to live and what kind of accommodation - whether it's a flat or student accommodation.
Was it difficult to find accommodation in Alicante? Do you have any advice?
I didn't find it difficult to find accommodation in San Vicente del Raspeig as it is all very organised and the town basically revolves around the university. There are lots of flats, townhouses, detached houses and student accommodation... there are so many types that are sure to adapt to your needs and tastes.
What’s the country’s food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Spanish cuisine is excellent. The rice in this region is what makes it great! "Arroz a banda", black rice, paella... and the other most typical things like Spanish omelette and tapas. The fish and meat are also really great. The truth is you can find a huge range of different foods!
What places do you recommend visiting in Alicante?
The beaches, Santa Barbara Castle, the old town, the port etc.
What about eating out in Alicante? What are your favourite places?
On the port in Alicante, there is a great Italian restaurant that is really well-priced and in San Vicente del Raspeig there are lots of places like El Bruno.
Where do you recommend for nightlife in Alicante?
The old town which is in the centre of Alicante.
Do you have any advice for future students in Alicante?
If you choose Alicante as your Erasmus destination, you won't regret it at all! It's really beautiful, it has a great climate and there are lots of things to do here! I am sure that once your time there is over, you won't want to leave and you'll want to do it all over again!
