What is it like to live in Alicante? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Alicante means enjoying an excellent climate throughout the year. It is a very tourist city (especially in summer), so there is a lot of life on the streets.

I higly recommend it as an ERASMUS+ or exchange destination (also to study your whole degree).

What is the student lifestyle like in Alicante?

The University of Alicante has the second largest campus in Europe, so there is a huge number of students. (Without counting those of the Miguel Hernández University and private schools).

Being a student here means that you are going to meet a lot of people, and hang out a lot at the beach.

The TRANSPORT is amazing, since we have a train that takes you to a bunch of villages for only euros.

How much does it cost to live in Alicante?

Alicante for a semester or a year is ridicously cheap.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Alicante? Is there any advice you can give?

Accommodation for a year or a semester isn't hard to find but, if you want to come during the summer, finding an appartment or hotel get's very hard because is suuuuper touristy.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Our specialities are Paella, Horchata (NOT almond but chufa), Turrón and chocolate (VALOR). I love all of them, but to find a good paella place I do NOT recomment touristy restaurants on the explanada. Some good paella places are: Aldebaran (recommendation; arroz con pata), Casa Pepe (recommendation: arroz meloso senyoret) y Restaurante Racó del Pla (recommendatin: arroz con pata).

What places would you recommend visiting in Alicante?

-Castle

-San Juan Beach

-ALTEA old town (Is a beautiful mediterranean village)

-Island of Tabarca (natural reserve)

-Guadalest y Fuentes del Algar

-Barrio de Santa Cruz (daytime)

-Explanada

-Cabo de las Huertas (Calas)ç

-Palmeral (ELche o Alicante)

Is it good to eat out in Alicante? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it is great because it isn't expensive.

I love to eat in all the restaurants mentioned above.

A really cheap place to drink bear and eat during the week is D'tablas, and an other would be the FLAMINGO, a really popular restaurant in Alicante because of the fries (STOGONOFF).

Is the nightlife good in Alicante? Where is good to go?

Alicante is a great city to party because of the variety of places. If you are more into Rock music and Heavy Metal we can offer "La ruta de la madera", It is the area beyond the market. If what you like is rap, hiphop, etc. there are a bunch of bars like: Muligans, Carpe Diem, Havana...

And if you only want to drink and dance to spanish and pop music, I recommend you the whole barrio.

ALICANTE is the province where BENIDORM is at. For those of you that don't know about BENIDORM, it is know in EAUROPE mainly because of it's NIGHTLIFE.

What advice would you give future students heading to Alicante?

Have fun, visit every museum, every beach and every corner of Alicante.
