Why did you choose to go to Alicante, Spain?

I chose Alicante to study Spanish.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship was for 5 months, and I received 250 euro per month plus utilities in a shared flat with 3 bedrooms in the center of Alicante.

What is the student lifestyle like in Alicante?

Relaxed, easygoing and fun! Lots of beach days in the Spring and Summer especially.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Alicante to other students?

Yes! The campus is lovely and the beaches and mountains surrounds are beautiful.

What is the food like?

Huge variety of classic Spanish food (tapas, paella, etc. ), but fewer ethnic cuisine restaurants, and a couple specialty places (like vegetarian).

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Alicante?

No, my previous program set it up.

How much does it cost to live in Alicante?

The rent is around 250 euro per month for 3 bedroom shared flat in the center, plus utilities.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes! There are also conversations groups to join in, and people are usually friendly to practise with them.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Alicante from your city?

Airplane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Alicante?

La Quinta Avenida club.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Alicante?

Calabaza and Kebab.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Castillo Santa Barbara and Castillo San Fernando.
