Why did you choose to go to Aarhus, Dinamarca?

Mostly to get English courses during one semester, which is not possible in my home university.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The money I received was very helpful because Denmark is very expensive, as Switzerland.

What is the student lifestyle like in Aarhus?

Teachers are very cool, you can call them by their first name. I didn't have too many courses, around 12h per week but I did had to work a lot more by myself.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Aarhus to other students?

I would say the city is cool to chill with some friends but everything is expensive and there is not so much to do..

They are always talking about the same 10 places...

For me it was a little bit boring as I am not used to the cold or cities so it depends on what you want too. I had some very fun parties at university and I met some very good friends from everywhere on the word. This part was pretty cool.

What is the food like?

They have some nice pastry but I didn't ate much danish food. I mostly ate like I do in France so it was fine.

Was it difficult to find your accommodation in Aarhus?

You must search on Facebook groups.

How much does it cost to live in Aarhus?

I paid 520 euros for my flat.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Not at all but some words are quite same as English... But yes, there is some danish courses avaible with university.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Aarhus from your city?

Plane, bus in Aarhus you must download "Midttrafik".

If you want to travel in Denmark you should check Flixbus. (Copenhagen is incredible).

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Aarhus?

I didn't go to any nightclub or restaurant but there are a lot of parties in the university where you can meet a lot of people!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Aarhus?

You can find some good restaurant on "Too good to go".

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

  • Aros museum
  • Deer park (bring some apples)
  • Vikings museum
  • Havnebadet (free, there is a sauna and you can jump in the ocean that's so fun)

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Aarhus in the future?

If you are just looking to learn English, I think it is better to directly go to England.

It is always fun to travel and it is a good experience to meet people.

Unfortunately, there is not so much to do in Aarhus. It is too much expansive.

You should buy a bike instead of renting in Swapfiets (only 20euros per month but the bikes are very heavy).

I hope you will enjoy!
