What is it like to live in Aalborg? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I really like living in Aalborg! It's a great place with people from all around the world. 90% of the danish population is speaking English so that's a bonus. The city is not so big, around 130, 000 ppl. Another thing I really like about it is that you can get to any place with a bicycle.

What is the student lifestyle like in Aalborg?

Foreign students usually hang out together. It's not the easiest thing to make danish friends mainly because of the culture difference.

How much does it cost to live in Aalborg?

Depends on your lifestyle! It can be really cheap if you spend on only what is a must. I survived a few months with around 500 DKK a month (besides the rent) but that means that I was cooking for myself and I didn't spend on sweets, juice, etc...

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Aalborg? Is there any advice you can give?

Facebook is the easiest way to find accommodation in Aalborg. There are many groups where students offer rooms. Rooms are usually around 2, 000DKK/month.

What places would you recommend visiting in Aalborg?

Aalborg is a beautiful city. There are many parks around where people hang out (when the weather lets it).

Is it good to eat out in Aalborg? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

The prices are rather high in Denmark so as a poor student there I could not afford to go eat in restaurants. As you know, Denmark has the worlds best restaurant in the world (in Copenhagen) so the rest can´t be that bad.

Is the nightlife good in Aalborg? Where is good to go?

If you want to have fun and party Jomfru Ane Gade is the place to go. It's a street in the city center and there are only bars, pubs and clubs on it.

What advice would you give future students heading to Aalborg?

There is no bad weather just bad clothing!
