Why did you choose to go to Aalborg, Denmark?

Everybody can speak English in Denmark. Moreover, Denmark is considered as the happiest country in the world.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Denmark is very expensive and costs of living are very high. I received 380 euro as a scholarship and this amount helped me cover only cost of accommodation + monthly ticket. I had to pay for accommodation in advance so I had to borrow money from my family. I think that you need to have something like 480 euro to can survive in Denmark without any own saving.

What is the student lifestyle like in Aalborg?

In Aalborg there are many foreigners, many people come to Denmark to study as a full time students. There is a huge society of foreign students and there is many organisations which organise some special events for people from abroad. There are : buddy network, Studenterhuset (special club in the city center only for students, there are concert, international evenings, international holiday celebrations), Jomfru Ane Gad (street with many pubs and clubs), dormitories.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Aalborg to other students?

I think yes.

What is the food like?

I do not know, I did not have a lot of money so I ate the cheapest food from the supermarket. The food in Denmark is quite similar to food from my country.

No, there is an accommodation office, special institution which take care of students and help them to find accommodation. Of course for free.

480/500 euro.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There were Danish courses but I did not participate in this, it was not obligatory. In Denmark, everybody speak English very good, no matter of profession or background. There are no problems with communication.

By bus or by ferry.
