It is a nice small city, quiet but with everything you possibly need. Everything is at a walkable distance and with a bike, you can go wherever you want since the cycle path net is perfect and safe.

Quite a lot but it depend on what do you do. If you do not eat out too often and try to reduce expenses in general, it is doable.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Aalborg? Is there any advice you can give?

Well it depends... I do not really know because the university gave me the accommodation.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is ok, there are many bakeries with different types of pastry, but also many fast foods with burgers and things like... you can actually find a lot of international cuisine.

From Christmas time, I like the typical pudding with rice, almonds and cherry sauce called Risalamande. It is very typical to eat rye bread (rugbrød) as an open sandwich with whatever on it. Liquorice is loved by Danes, and they have it also salty.

There are many nice Café and Restaurants but eating out it is quite expensive. I did enjoy a lot the food at Cafe Spiret.

It is not Barcelona or some other big city so you can not expect crazy nightlife... but there is a street in the city center called Jomfru Ane Gade (they call it "The Street"). There is a nice place called 1000 Fryd where they also often have live music.
